Poaceae or Gramineae is a large and nearly ubiquitous family of monocotyledonous flowering plants known as grasses, commonly referred to collectively as grass. Poaceae includes the cereal grasses, bamboos and the grasses of natural grassland and cultivated lawns and pasture. Hot Rod turns red before any other Panicum! Blades emerge blue-green and start to turn red rapidly until the whole plant is a deep rich maroon. Will grow to 36 to 40 inches. (Available in July). Prefers full sun and will need to cut down at the end of the season.
