HPL Pocket Program A 6-Week Power & Rev Rate System for Bowlers $47 — Instant Digital Download
Most high school bowlers never train physically at all — bowling doesn't look like a power sport, so it doesn't get treated like one. But ball speed and rev rate are what actually create pocket entry angle and pin carry, and both are generated exactly the way power is generated in any rotational sport: through the hips and core, transferred through a consistent, repeatable release. Bowlers who never train that transfer plateau on power long before their technique runs out of room to improve. Worse, the repetitive high-volume swing that competitive bowling demands causes real overuse injuries — bowler's thumb, wrist tendinitis, shoulder impingement — that go completely untrained in almost every youth bowling program.
The HPL Pocket Program is built to develop power deliberately, while protecting the wrist, thumb, and shoulder from the injuries that quietly end bowling careers.
Six weeks. Five sessions a week. Power built on a repeatable foundation:
- Approach & Timing — footwork consistency, swing plane, and release timing, the repeatable base every power gain has to be built on
- Rotational Core Power — hip-and-trunk rotational power transferred into the swing
- Recovery & Prehab — the session most bowling training skips entirely. Wrist/forearm extensor strengthening and grip endurance, plus shoulder rotator cuff and scapular stability
- Release Mechanics & Rev Rate — hand-position and wrist-cupping drills to increase revolutions, with axis rotation/tilt control
- Live Rep Testing & Ball Speed — full-speed reps combining approach, power, and release at game pace
Two benchmark checkpoints — Week 3 (College-Ready) and Week 6 (Pocket Benchmark) — measure ball speed, rev rate, repeat-shot board consistency, approach timing consistency, and grip/forearm endurance as an overuse-injury resilience metric. All measured as improvement against the bowler's own Week 1 baseline, since ball speed and rev rate vary enormously by size, style, and equipment.
Who it's for: High school bowlers heading into college competition who want to add real, deliberate power to their game — and protect the wrist and shoulder that power depends on. This program builds power and rev rate; it doesn't cover spare shooting or lane-reading strategy, so pair it with a dedicated accuracy program for full game development.
What's included:
- Full 6-week, 5-day/week training calendar
- Approach, timing, and rotational core power protocols
- Release mechanics and rev-rate development drills
- A complete recovery system: wrist/forearm/thumb care, shoulder rotator cuff and scapular stability
- Two benchmark testing days with clear pass/repeat criteria
- Equipment and safety guidance, including ball-fitting recommendations
